EPDM
Energy-Efficient Weather-Resistant
This is a membrane-type roofing solution, which is great for energy efficiency, and durability, and has properties like weather resistance and sun reflecting capabilities. These are made from synthetic rubber and are trendy options for flat roofing.
PVC
Sun-Reflecting Low-Maintenance Durable
PVC roofs are quite popular for flat roofing as they reflect sunlight, are weather-resistant and have a lot of energy efficiency benefits for the building. They can last for up to 20-30 years if installed properly and will require minimal maintenance. This is also a membrane-type roofing solution.
Modified Bitumen
Lightweight Ideal High-Traffic Areas
These roofs are very light, yet they can match other roofing systems in strength and durability. They are based on a 2-ply system which makes them very light while still making them highly suitable for high-traffic areas. These make use of an asphalt material that is coated with minerals and rolled up into sheets.
TPO
Long-Lasting (30-40 years)
TPO is more or less similar to EPDM, with the only difference being that thermoplastic polyolefin is used to make it instead of synthetic rubber. They are installed using layers of insulated boards and can last for 30-40 years if installed properly and maintained from time to time.
SBS
Cost-Effective Hot & Cold Application
SBS is just a type of modified bitumen that is also available in the membrane form. It is energy-efficient, weather-resistant, and has a lower installation cost in general. It can last long in heavy traffic areas due to its strength from asphalt and mineral coating. They can be applied by two methods.
Built-Up Roofing
Easy to Repair Cost-Effective Durable
This is one of the most common types of roofing options available due to its cost-effectiveness and high durability. These kinds of roofs are easy to repair and maintain. They consist of multiple layers of insulation boards, gravel, and tar, to create a strong and durable roof. With regular maintenance and inspections, these can last for over 40 years.
Asphalt Roofing
Affordable Long-Lasting
Asphalt is used on a variety of roof systems to replace open flames. It is a cost-effective material in terms of maintenance, repair and ease of installation. Despite being a fraction of the cost of other roofing systems, it is highly durable and has a longer lifespan. Asphalt can add to the aesthetics of any property as you can choose between various colours, textures, and patterns that will fit your flat roofing requirements.
Duro-Last
Low-Maintenance Prefabricated Membrane
Duro-last is a roofing manufacturer that offers custom prefabricated membranes to meet exact specifications for flat roofing and low-sloped applications. The Duro-Last Roofing System is also extremely durable, easy to install, watertight, highly reflective, resistant to chemicals, fire and high winds, as well as a low-maintenance roofing solution.
Tremco
No Open Flame Required Hot & Cold Application
These are cold-applied and hot-applied fluid roofing systems. No open flame is required to apply this product. Tremco offers the most comprehensive roofing materials, services and weatherproofing solutions for new construction, roof maintenance, replacement, and more.
Hot-Applied SBS
Affordable Long-Lasting
One of the oldest methods of installing SBS roofing, hot-applied roofing is known for its ease of application. A hot mop roof lasts around 15 to 30 years which is pretty short compared to other roofing materials.
Cold-Applied SBS
Affordable Long-Lasting
Cold adhesives have been found to be more effective than hotter ones. They are cost-effective and don’t require many precautions during installation. They are odourless and can be applied in occupied buildings with flat roofing, including schools and hospitals, safely.
